2. Specific information about the website

2.1 Use of Marketo

2.1.1  Description and scope of data processing
Sense & image GmbH uses services of Marketo EMEA Limited, Cairn House South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18 Ireland (‘Marketo’), such as sending our newsletter, invitations to webinars and events as well as downloading information about our company and products (‘digital services’).

When sending emails, Marketo evaluates your user behavior on our behalf. For this evaluation, the e-mails sent contain so-called web beacons, also known as tracking pixels. These single-pixel image files allow us to track your user behavior.

We record when you read our emails, which links you click in them and draw conclusions about your personal interests. We link this data to actions carried out by you on our website (see also Section 2.1.2). Marketo stores the information collected in this way on its server in the European Union or the European Economic Area (EU or EEA). Tracking is not possible if you have disabled the display of images in your e-mail program by default. If you display the images manually, the above tracking takes place.

If you use one of our digital services for which you have completed the registration process (for example, our newsletter), Marketo will also assist us in analyzing your usage behavior on our website. For this purpose, a text file (cookie) is stored on your computer, which enables us to recognize you the next time you visit our website.

2.1.2 Purpose of data processing
We analyze how you use our website and other digital content such as videos, banners and downloads posted on our website. This allows us to tailor our offers to your individual needs, so that you receive less randomly distributed offers overall. We use the data obtained in this way to provide you with our digital services tailored to your interests.

2.1.3 Duration of storage
The cookie on your machine expires after 24 months. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser.

2.1.4 Right of information, objection and revocation

If you register for one of our digital services and provide personal data via a registration form in this connection, we will obtain your declaration of consent. In it you agree to the extent described there with the data processing in the context of the use of our digital services, such as newsletters, invitation to webinars and events and associated analysis of your user behavior as described in this section. As a user you have the possibility to cancel the registration or change the data stored about you at any time. Please contact the following e-mail address:

info@sense-and-image.com

sense & image GmbH

Rommelstraße 1, D-76227 Karlsruhe

2.2 Use of a newsletter

When registering for our newsletter, you provide us with your email address and, on an optional basis, other information. We use these data solely for the purpose of sending you the newsletter. We retain the data that you disclose in your newsletter application until you cancel your subscription to our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the newsletter intended for this purpose, or by sending us the appropriate notification. By unsubscribing, you revoke the use of your email address. (You can find more information about this in chapter 2.1 Marketo)

We also use your email address, which we receive in connection with the sale of a product or service, exclusively for direct advertising in the form of our newsletter for products or services that we sell that are similar to the ones you ordered, provided that you have not objected to having your email used in this way. You may object to the use of your email address at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates. Your objection (and thus the cancellation of our newsletter) can be communicated by sending the appropriate message to our email address

2.3 Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies,” text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. However, in the event IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Treaty on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there only on an exceptional basis. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators, and providing other services to website operators relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google will not associate the IP address transmitted under Google Analytics by your browser with other data held by Google. You may prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software; however, we should inform you in this case that you might not be able to enjoy all of the functionality of this website to its full extent. You may additionally prevent the recording of the data (including your IP address) to Google that is generated by the cookie and that pertains to your use of the website, or the processing of these data, by downloading and installing the following browser plug-in available through the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. In view of the discussion about the use of analytics tools with full IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()” which means that IP addresses are used only in a shortened form in order to prevent any direct correlation to specific persons. For browsers on mobile devices, please click this link to, in future, prevent anonymous tracking by Google Analytics and to activate a so-called “opt-out cookie” for your browser.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or in so far as third parties process this data on behalf of Google.
